A Family Destination

We created a space that is the family destination for all large celebrations or get-togethers.

The private hide-away for big news that needs to stay in-house. Through bold and innovative gestures that are sustainably and responsibly implemented, we created a space that fulfilled this large brief.

A Sense of Arrival & Place

The development is enviably located in the well-established Estate of Blair-Atholl.

The drive to the front of the home displays an impressive entrance for all arriving guests.

The water feature carries the natural water elements in the surround through the house, from the small dam at the driveway, through a water feature and canopy into the house, and exiting via the pool, where nature connects it back to the river on the other edge of the site.

A Relaxed, Natural Lifestyle

Emphasizing the magnificent views of the Magaliesberg Mountains and Cradle of Humankind, as well as the Crocodile River, was high priority.

Large glazed elements opens the home to the nature reserve.

Blair Atholl prides itself on its ultra-minimal density, which is one of the lowest in the country with just over 300 residential stands spread over 600 hectares of lush greenbelt.

Privacy and total seclusion are of prime value here, having at least 15m and plenty of leafy, treed surroundings in between each home.

Wellness & Sustainability

The home has been engineered with the healthiest materials in mind - and these were locally sourced wherever possible.

Material standards to avoid toxic byproducts was implemented at every step of the planning and constructing of the home. The contractors understand the environment very well - as they are specially appointed by the estate, and have experience in building homes at Blair-Atholl Estate.

The home has water and energy needs that have to be met in a completely independent way. Water harvesting systems and solar panels with inverters were implemented.

A Nature Reserve

Blair-Atholl Golf and Equestrian Estate is a natural oasis.

With the Crocodile River running through the middle of this lushly treed estate, Blair Atholl offers thousands of acres of common open ground where children can play and adults can enjoy the natural surroundings.

Free roaming wildlife including kudu, nyala and springbok are common, and graze right up to the homes in the Estate, giving a distinct game lodge feel, and the home reflects these surroundings, and makes them accessible in meaningful ways.
